I MADE IT!

It was a stressful morning last Friday as I waited for the email regarding the status on my Nursing application here at BYU. Finally, after 3 hours and 45 min of constant email-checking, it came. And it brought GREAT news! I have been accepted to the BYU Nursing Program!
I begin on April 29th and will be going straight through until August 11th before I get a break so I won't have much of a summer. But at least I'm in the program, right?! The program is 5 semesters long so I am expected to graduate in April 2010.
We are both thrilled!!!

ENYA IS SINGING IN THE LIBRARY

As many of you know much of my life consists of the Harold B. Lee Library at BYU. As I spend many hours a day there, to keep my self sane I have to listen to music. The other day I had a very funny experience. The library at BYU is very silent and if you ever talk a little loud or make too much noise you get dirty looks. I have given my share of dirty looks like all the others at BYU simply because they make the classes so dang hard that we can't have disruptions. Early morning on Monday I got to the library at 8:00 to study before my class and I got my computer out to hook up the tunes and dig into the books. I plugged in the headphones and turned on Enya (she is great to study to) and after about 5 minutes or so I thought it sounded like the music was coming out of my computer speakers, not my headphones. I looked down and to my shock I had plugged my headphones into the wrong out-jack and Enya had been coming out of my computer in the middle of the library. How and why no one told me or said anything I have no idea but I felt like an idiot. At least they got to enjoy the beautiful Enya in their studies.

YELLOWCARD CONCERT

A few months ago, Jeff's friend Jarom told us that Yellowcard was coming to SLC and asked if we wanted to go. Since the tickets were REALLY reasonably priced, we decided we couldn't miss it. A few weeks after purchasing the tickets, we found out that the concert was going to be all acoustic, hence the cheap tickets. Although Jeff was a little bummed that he wasn't going to be able to "rock out," we were still WAY excited!

Since, the concert was held in the tiny Avalon Theatre, the band actually came out to sell their stuff and we got to meet them and take a picture with the lead singer. No, I'm NOT high or mentally handicapped even though it looks like it. You can just ignore me in this one...yikes

Click here for a live acoustic version of "Lights and Sounds" accompanied by Jeff in the background...hahaha

Originallly, we were about three rows from the front but decided the view was much better a little further away. It was was sooo much fun!!

In Need of a Five Course Meal of Lost

Last week's LOST was great, as always, but it wasn't quite enough to hold me over. It was like an appetizer--really good, but not quite satisfying. Desmond's "sickness" was pretty interesting as was Faraday's discovery and cure for it, but it didn't seem to solve any part of the mystery. At least for me it didn't. However, it was quite cool when Desmond and Penelope actually got to talk on the phone! How would that be?! I can't imagine how relieving it would feel to be able to talk to someone back home. And for Penelope, she hadn't spoken with Desmond in YEARS but she got the phone call promised years earlier. Oh man...bring on the five course meal cause I'm hungry for some LOST!
